Hardware Lifecycle Management Methodology
The CSP Networks Hardware Lifecycle Management Methodology is a comprehensive and robust framework that merges the most recognized industry standards and our extensive 20-year knowledge. By adopting this all-encompassing approach, we provide our clients a thorough and effective guide to managing the entire hardware lifecycle.

Hardware must be supported by CSP Networks through a CSP Managed Service Plan.
Hardware Operating System must still be supported by the manufacturer (Microsoft). Warranties cannot be applied to hardware with Operating System that have gone to end of life (EOL).
Hardware must be from legitimate Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM); Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc.

The below Workstation (Laptop/Desktop) Hardware will be reviewed with CSP Managed Service Clients on a quarterly basis. Clients may opt to pass on extending warranties or replacing hardware, however any hardware that is outside of the Acceptable Use Range will appear on the quarterly report until the warranty is renewed or the hardware is replaced.
Standard Desktop - 4 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Standard Desktops with a 3 Year Pro Support Warranty. CSP Networks will recommend to renew the warranty for 1 additional year when the original 3 year term has ended. In some cases, new hardware was delivered with a different warranty term, CSP will advise on those cases as they arise.
CSP Networks will recommend and send a quote for a 1 Year, Next Business Day On Site Warranty.
Customer/Engineering Desktops - 5 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Custom/Engineering Desktops with a 3 Year Pro Support Warranty. CSP Networks will recommend to renew the warranty for 1 additional year when the original 3 year term has ended, and again at the end of the 4th year, so that this machine has a warranty in place for 5 years. In some cases, new hardware was delivered with a different warranty term, CSP will advise on those cases as they arise.
CSP Networks will recommend and send a quote for a 1 Year, Next Business Day On Site Warranty.
When the Custom/Engineering Desktop ages past 5 years, CSP Networks will recommend it for replacement.
Standard Laptop - 3 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Standard Laptops with a 3 Year Pro Support Warranty. In most cases CSP Networks will recommend you replace Standard Laptops at the end of the initial 3 year warranty period. However, in some situations it makes sense to keep the standard laptop for 1-2 additional years and as such CSP will provide warranty quotes for those as needed.
Based on the above information, CSP Networks will recommend replacement of Standard Laptops somewhere between 3 and 5 years of age.
Customer/Engineering Laptops - 4 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Custom/Engineering Desktops with a 3 Year Pro Support Warranty. CSP Networks will recommend to renew the warranty for 1 additional year when the original 3 year term has ended.
When the Custom/Engineering Laptop ages past 4 years, CSP Networks will recommend it for replacement.

Monitors & Docking Stations - 5 to 10 Year
Generally, monitors and docking stations can be used so long as they are in working order and properly connect to their intended counterparts. CSP will not include monitors and docking stations as part of the Quarterly Hardware Report, however CSP will advise when to replace these components on an as-needed basis. -
Servers - 3 to 7 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Servers with a 3 Year Pro Support Warranty. In most cases, when the original 3 year warranty expires, CSP Networks will recommend an extended warranty for an additional 3 years. However, each client has a unique set of requirements with respect to Server use. Therefore, CSP Networks will evaluate each server individually and meet with the client at least once per year to discuss Server Lifecycle Management.

Firewalls - 3 to 5 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Firewalls with a 3 Year Hardware Warranty and 3 Year Software Assurance Contract in place.
Wireless Access Points - 3 to 5 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Wireless Access Points with a 3 Hardware Warranty and a 3 Year Software Assurance Contract in Place.
Switches - 3 to 7 Years
Storage Units - 3 to 7 Years
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) - 3 to 5 Years
Generally, CSP Networks Delivers New Uninterruptible Power Supplies that come with a standard 1 Year Warranty. In most cases, a UPS can easily last 3 years. Many factors will contribute to the length of life of each UPS. CSP will review the health of the UPS each year when they review the Server Hardware Lifecycle Management Plan.
